The fluted cylindrical body tapers upwards to a wide silver rim with a flat hinged cover.
The most striking aspect, however, is the handle.
Formed into the shape of a lizard, it is naturally chased with diamond-shaped scales along the body and legs, and broader scales distinguishing the belly.
The creative way in which the handle is styled infuses the piece with a sense of dynamism.
The lizard’s arched back forms the body of the handle, while its splayed feet secure the handle to the silver lid and the glass base; its long, curled tail, meanwhile, adds a decorative flourish.
